History
Initially, Layton Bros. as owners operators worked as subcontractors
constructing well sites in the gas fields of Lac La Biche and Fort McMurray
area. By 1979, with the opportunity to expand their fleet and increase their
business, Layton Bros. became a visible entity in the Bonnyville area. The
winter months of 1980 and 1981 presented substantial growth opportunities. It
was during this time that Dome Petroleum commenced coring the heavy oil deposits
on the Primrose Air Weapons Range and Layton Bros. capitalized on the
opportunity constructing 126 well sites and an intricate road and access system. Project
